Christ: The Way to Salvation

Let’s get one thing straight: there is no other route to salvation other than coming to an acceptance of Jesus as your Lord and personal savior. No matter how holy and sinless you might be during life on this earth, there is no amount of sinlessness alone that can admit you into the gates of Heaven.

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)

At first, it may sound quite contradictory to the entire philosophy of Christianity as a religion, but it is, instead, the concrete foundation of reaching salvation.

“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name (Jesus) under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)

This verse specifically targets the fact that one can be saved only through the name of Jesus, and by absolutely no other means.

To reach salvation, or the state of being saved, the bible says in Romans 10:9-10: “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (10) For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” This is the only true way one can gain true salvation. Now this does not mean you can declare and believe that Jesus is Lord and go live a life tainted with sin. That is when you violate the already present parameters put in place by other aspects of gaining salvation. Declaring and believing that Jesus is Lord is one part of gaining salvation, but doing His Will on earth and striving to live like He did is the other part. All of this can be done through Him, so continue building that relationship with Jesus even when the going gets tough.
