Forgiving someone who has hurt you is not a feasible task to do. Although it is hard, we as Christians must show mercy to others, no matter what they might have done to us. Some things will be easier to forgive than others, but all in all, we have to show mercy to others. How many times have you gone to God asking for mercy? A lot. How many times has He forgiven you? Each and every single time. It is all because of the immeasurable love He has for us. Whenever we confess our sins and ask for forgiveness, He will grant us with it. The Bible has a lot to say about forgiving others.

Some of these scriptures are as follows:

Ephesians 4:32 ESV - “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”

Mark 11:25 ESV - “And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”

Matthew 6:14-15 ESV - “For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”

To recap: If you are merciful to others, the Lord your Father will be merciful to you. If you struggle to forgive others, go to God about it. Ask Him to grant you the grace to be able to forgive more easily.
