Self Worth

As christians we know we have a relationship with God but that relationship isn’t meant to be one-sided. Our relationship with God isn’t only for God, it’s for ourselves too. Even though we are christians, we are still human, which is why we often discover things about ourselves that we don’t take pleasure in. We make ourselves insecure by trying to set a standard for ourselves or even listening to the standard someone else has set for themself. God never wants us to feel this way about ourselves because we are perfect in His sight. He created us in His own perfect image. Psalm 139:13-14 says, "You are the one who put me together inside my mother’s body, and I praise you because of the wonderful way you created me. Everything you do is marvelous! Of this, I have no doubt." The works of God are marvelous and God is the one who formed us, therefore we are marvelous. We shouldn’t feel disappointed and angry at ourselves for what we don’t have but thank God and take pride in the things we do have. We must have confidence in ourselves if we want to complete the works God has set for us to complete. God teaches us to go out and love whoever we come across but how can we do that, if we first don’t love ourselves?
